In October 2021, the Forward Party began in earnest with a mission to bring much-needed change to American politics. Led by Andrew Yang, Christine Whitman, and a wide swath of energetic organizers—we set out to fix a broken system.
In August 2022, we merged with two other reform-minded organizations: the Renew America Movement, founded by Evan McMullin, and the Serve America Movement, led in part by former Florida Congressman David Jolly. With strong Florida roots in all three, our state quickly became a leading force in this new, united effort.
Today, the Florida Forward Party is officially recognized as a minor party, governed by an elected Executive Committee. As of January 2025, we have over 735 members and are growing fast. We come from all political backgrounds, united by the belief that the two-party system is failing us—and that it's time for something better.
We don’t just want to make a statement. We want to win seats and empower communities. Our goal is to reach major party status by growing from the bottom up—training and equipping members to lead in their own backyards, take ownership of their communities, and create lasting change across Florida. Together, we’re building not just a new party, but a different kind of party—credible, durable, and driven by the people.
